I just read the long review on SSC about the famous 12 Rules For Life by Jordan Peterson. Though I am not familiar with all sayings written by Scott and without broader context it was hard to understand (Nietsche, suffering, etc), there are 2 paragraphs which really caught my attention:

Thinking is emotionally painful and physiologically demanding, more so than anything else – exept not thinking. But you have to be very articulate and sophisticated to have all this thinking occur inside your own head. The fact is important enough to bear repeating: people organize their brains through conversation. If they don’t have anyone to tell their story to, they lose their minds. Like hoarders, they cannot unclutter themselves. The input of the community is required for the integrity of the individual psyche. To put it another way: it takes a village to build a mind.

Unfortunately I find burdening and boring to talk 90% of the cases, be it in the class at the university or with my friends if the topic is not in my specific area of interest. I have been long thinking that writing is a better medium to articulate my thoughts, but this quotes struck me in the head.

It is funny that completely unrelated to this I’ve been thinking about doing a daily vlogging just for myself, where I explain my day or week ahead of me to clear my head, setting some structure to the day.
