Accidentally out of juice iPhones during winter

Posted at — Jan 17, 2017

A post about Apple again, but not with good intention this time. This morning saw a video, when a hungarian blogger’s phone died in 0 °C in less than 3 minutes from 81%.

Somehow the majority of devices can completely black out in minutes even in the semi-cold winter (<0 °C). Apple as a good capitalist company have not recognise the problem fully, stating:

We found that a small number of iPhone 6s devices made in September and October 2015 contained a battery component that was exposed to controlled ambient air longer than it should have been before being assembled into battery packs.

However, according to several articles, not just a small number of 6s’, but 5s’ and 6’s are still affected. Its understandable from financial perspective to not inform the users about the whole picture, altough this kind of behaviour should be punished.
