On forced positivity

This week some of the big youtubers talk about being exaggerately positive all the time, when they are doing their videos, vlogging about their daily lives. I’m really thankful for them doing this, we have to peel down the all-time smile layer off the videos and entertaining shows. Not talking about drastically changing the style of these channels, being an utterly depressed human being would help this phenomenon, but the viewers and readers have to be informed about taking responsibility for their own sad feelings.

Speaking about sad feelings, forcing positivity can really have this harmful effects, and its inevitable to experience the sad periods of life. Avoiding these can lead to detrimental quality of your ovefall life. I’m reading about Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and its corresponding book which I highly encourage you to read. I assume being mindful with your thoughts, accepting these as-is and not changing them for better or worse is a crucial skill for overall mental health.
